Toyota Motor Europe Boosts Q1 2025 Sales to 321,067 Vehicles, Defies European Market Downturn

Brussels, April 24, 2025Toyota Motor Europe (TME) has announced its first quarter 2025 sales results, delivering 321,067 units across the Toyota and Lexus brands—marking a +0.4% year-on-year increase and outperforming a European auto market that contracted by -2.0%.

The growth was powered by a surge in electrified vehicle sales, which represented a record 78% of total sales, led by Toyota’s diverse lineup of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery electric (BEV), and fuel cell electric (FCEV) models.

According to Till Conrad, Executive Vice President of Sales at TME:

“Despite market contraction, our performance reflects the strength of our multi-pathway strategy—offering customers hybrid, plug-in, BEV, and hydrogen options. With new models arriving in 2025 and 2026, we’ll continue to lead the transition to zero-emission mobility.”

Toyota plans to achieve 100% CO₂ reduction in all new vehicles sold in Western Europe by 2035, further aligning with its “Mobility for All” and sustainability vision.
